Why is an Air Dryer for Air Compressors Important?
Compressed air systems naturally produce moisture, which can wreak havoc on your equipment, causing corrosion, blockages, and costly downtime. That’s where air dryers come in. They remove excess moisture, safeguarding your tools, machinery, and processes. With the right air dryer, you’ll experience improved air quality, energy efficiency, and system longevity. What to Consider before Buying an Air Dyer
When choosing an air dryer, it’s important to match the dryer’s capacity to your compressor’s output. The dryer’s maximum input flow (measured in CFM) should always be slightly higher than the compressor’s maximum output to ensure efficient moisture removal. For example, a compressor producing around 15–20 CFM would be best paired with a Tundra 22. If you’re using an 11 kW, 15 HP screw compressor delivering approximately 58 CFM, then a Tundra 64 would be the ideal match. While CFM is the key factor here, pressure (Bar or PSI) is less relevant when sizing your air dryer. Choosing the right dryer ensures your system stays dry, efficient, and protected. Why Buy your Air Dryer from Metro Sales?
